What's on at the School of Arts Hall

Just some of the things on at the hall in the way of classes and events

Vaudeville Affair 2 - Friday 5 and Saturday 6 August

The fabulous, playful and terribly gorgeous 'Doo Wop Dolls' with their big petticoats and bee hive flip wigs will have you singing and dancing in the aisles along to the hits of the 40’s, 50’s & 60’s.The scantily clad Chèrie D’Amour dancers will woo you with their risqué style, adorned with cheeky costumes, feathers and fishnet stockings. Look in wonder at the spectacular pole dancer ‘Jewel’ who will have you sitting on the edge of your seat as she slithers and contorts from dizzying heights. The Drag Queens, Melony Brests & Sall Monalla’s hilarity will have you cracking up with side splitting laughter!!

From the moment you walk in the door you will feel like you have walked into a 1940’s speakeasy club. The audience is encouraged to dress up in 1920’s to 1950’s attire to be thoroughly immersed in the magical Vaudeville Affair II.

It included fashion parades through the eras, butter making, wood carving and turning, and string making demonstrations and classic antique cars. Queensland Air Museum’s Caloundra had a de Havilland Sea Vixen Jet Fighter Cockpit pod on display. Council’s new portable museum boxes were on display, including objects from the SS Dicky and a beautiful display of restored books from the collections of Bankfoot House and Berkelouw Books, Eumundi.

It was so successful it will probably be repeated in 2017
